How to get First Release on your Office 365 tenant

I am personally not fan of Apple who wants to queue overnight for the first release of the device - but, I am a Microsoft’s fans. Especially when it deals with Microsoft SharePoint including the cloud version known as Office 365. Sometimes it is thrilling to get the first release, because we may encounter unexpected bug. In the past we saw some hiccup to early adopters of SharePoint patches. But who cares, the statistic still shows that the probability of this kind regression is low. So, I choose to be in the First Release queue for my Office 365. I want to experience the new features among the first adopters. If you are having same adrenalin you can opt-in to get First Release in your tenant, whether Production or Staging. Follow this 2 easy steps!

  1. Open Office 365 Setting page O365_Setting
  2. On the left navigation, expand Service Settings > Updates. Enable First Release option. O365_FirstRelease

It takes 24 hours before the new setting becomes effective for your tenant.
